PRESENTATION SKILLS WORKSHOP

Provide your students with an opportunity to learn Public Speaking and Presentation in a way that will in increase their confidence and build their skills. Give them practical experience in a supportive environment.

There are two phases.

First, a Large Group Workshop actively involves the
entire class and their teacher with exercises that teach live presentation techniques. Several Small Group Sessions, of 5-7 students, follow. These provide each student with individual attention.*
In Large Group Workshops, students learn to:

  • Focus Attention
  • Anchor the Body in Space
  • Create and Maintain Appropriate Eye Contact
  • Use Headlines and Sound Bites
  • Blend Reading, Memorization and Improvisation
  • Shape a Presentation by:
Targeting the Beginning, Middle and End
    Identifying the Most Important Moment
Using Hooks and Key Phrases as Markers

In the Small Group Workshops, students get one-on-one coaching and receive tips tailored to the individual student's style and personality. The process is designed to be fun yet rigorous and comfortable for even the shyest of students. For this session each student prepares a three-sentence "speech" based on a book they are reading or topic the class is studying.
